First E mail
Hello everyone,
We may have casually talked about this on occasion, but I would like to formally invite all of you to embark upon a great creative project. This will be something collaborative that will merge the worlds of the photographer and the illustrator/painter. The idea is basically this. A photographer will team up with an illustrator and together create one piece. How this is done is entirely up to you. In order for this to be more fun and so you have to spend less time thinking about exactly what the piece should be about, we need a theme. Me and Kahlil casually discussed a, ‘creatures in the city’ theme (example king kong on the burj? Sammy the whale escaping?). The city ofcourse is Dubai. I think this way we can explore many ideas (social, political, environmental, psychological etc…) without being too blatant about it. I think it will be great to see how people work together and what they can come up with. One illustrator can team up with many photographers and vice versa. The options are limitless. If you are up for this, it would be great if we can meet up sometime soon in the canteen. Is anyone free at around 5 pm today? I have also attached an image as a sneak peak of what is possible (done by Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz fame, and also the person who inspired me on this trip).
Maybe if we can co-ordinate we can even put our efforts on display eventually, but lets just meet first and discuss.
